Get to Know Your Friendly Neighborhood Boob Nerd
Hey there — I’m Mary Warriner, RN, IBCLC, and the proud founder of Boob Nerds, where lactation meets laughter and breastfeeding science saves the day.
My Story
I’m a registered nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and I’m also a mom who has lived the realities of cluster feeds, mastitis, late-night exhaustion, and those “am I doing this right?” moments. I breastfed three of my four kids, while my fourth was adopted through foster care. That journey taught me something I carry into every visit: every feeding story is unique, personal, and worthy of support.
I breastfed twins for a full year, including one baby who started out in the NICU, and I remember wondering, “Can I really make enough for two?” Spoiler alert: with the right support, I could. I also nursed another child for over a year, and through all of those experiences, I learned just how much compassionate, knowledgeable support can change everything.
I was lucky to have people in my corner, and that is exactly why I’m so passionate about being part of that village for other families. Every parent deserves to feel seen, capable, and supported by someone who truly has their back.
Where It All Began
My love for helping families with feeding began while working with the Women, Infants, and Children program, also known as WIC. That is where I discovered how much I loved blending real-life support with the science of lactation and watching families grow in confidence.
Why I Created Boob Nerds
I created Boob Nerds to bring together evidence-based care, humor, and heart because breastfeeding support should never feel awkward, overwhelming, or judgmental. At Boob Nerds, we are proudly inclusive and 100% non-judgmental. Whether you are nursing, pumping, combo-feeding, breastfeeding, chestfeeding, formula feeding, or figuring it out one day at a time, you belong here.
My Mission
At Boob Nerds, our mission is to help every family feel supported, informed, and celebrated exactly where they are in their feeding journey. Through evidence-based lactation care, compassionate support, and a little nerdy humor, we empower parents to make confident choices that work for their baby, their body, and their life. Because breastfeeding support should be rooted in science, wrapped in empathy, and free from judgment.
